Spiritual Mantra

-: Vishnu Vandana :-

Vishnu Vandana

Vishnu Vandana

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is beyond the world, Who is the arrangement of the world, Who is the Lord of learned men, Who is the end of the world¹, Who is the beginning of the world, Who has no-one preceding, Who is Vibhu, Who is worthy of praises, Who is free from knowledge, lack of knowledge or derivations from them, Who resides inside hearts as consciousness, Who is the splendor of the world, and Who is reverred by destiny Herself.||1||

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is the truth, Who is beyond truth, and Who is the untrue mundane existence around us, Who is always sanguine, Who is pure, wise, free, unexpressed and liberated from destiny, Who is everything, Who is perhaps situated beyond the scope of everything or anything that survives beyond everything, Who agglutinates happiness, Who is a helper to all, and Who is served by the demi-gods.||2||

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is the measure, Who is beyond measures, Who is immeasurable, Who is sought-after by mind, Who is the thought of the thinkers, Who is reverred by sages, Who is bountiful in splendor (mahima), Who plays with Maya, Who is skilled in enchanting, Who is the beginning, Who is beyond Maya, Who is the immense destroyer of passion, and Who is praiseworthy.||3||

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is the small quantities that we see around, Who is beyond the small quantities, Who is uncrossed, Who is superior to the small quantities (essentially saying beyond than the smallest), Who is the basis of ocean of mundane existence, Who is perhaps invariable, Who is the complete entity, Who perhaps roams within Himself, Who is bountiful, Who is the supreme One to be reverred, and Who is the supreme reality.||4||

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is beyond time, Who is the dreadful Kaal Himself, Who is as well benevolent and compassionate, Who is unseasonable by Kaal, Who is abundant in playful sports, Who is beautiful and enticing, Who is the reason for desires (by the creation of Maya), Who destroys the desires within us, Who has lotus-like eyes, Who is the reason for the splendor of desires, and Who is the Lord of Kamla (Lakshmi).||5||

I sing praises of Vishnu, Who is eternal bliss, Who is incessantly present, Who is imperishable, Who is the basis of universe, Who is shining like a glistening cloud, Who cannot be praised (completely), Who is bountiful in various manifestations, Who is formless, Who is compassionate, Who has a lotus burgeoning forth from the belly-button, and Who has lotus-like eyes.||6||

Notes:

¹When everything is submerged in darkness or during pralay, the entity that exists is being referred as the end of the world.
